How to Promote Your Martial Arts Website and/or Business for Free
If you are reading this then no doubt that you have at least heard about the powers of internet advertising, and more than likely you have a website for your Martial Arts business. In this day and age, your martial arts business website is a very powerful marketing tool, but it is useless if no one knows about it. Below are a few simple ways in which you can attract visitors to your martial arts related website for free.
A great way to drive traffic to your martial arts related website is to write articles. They can be specific to your style, or generic articles about things such as self defense, nutrition, general health, martial arts movie or book reviews etc. Once you have written your articles you need to submit them to various article directories. There are many of them out there (google them). Although all of them will serve you as good back links (put your website in your resource box) it is best to make sure you submit it to article directories which specialise in martial arts eg FirstActionArticles.com.
Another good way to promote your website is to regularly participate in martial arts related forums. Post in in them at least once a week. In your signature you can put a link to your website.
One thing you shouldn’t overlook, and you should have done this when you first created your website, is to submit your website to search engines. The two most well known ones are Google and Yahoo, but don’t stop with those two.
Once you have traffic coming in, you want to keep them coming back. A great way to do this is to build an ezine list. Simply have a link on your site where people can sign up their email address. To entice them you could offer a free ebook, e course, a periodic email, or a combination of these. This is a massive subject on its own. There is plenty of information on this on the internet. Hint; I offer a free ebook on my website firstactionarticles.com which you can redistribute for free as long as you don’t change it.

Designing Information Architecture of Websites $100.37 Nowadays we observe the tremendous growth of the number of websites on the Internet and the increasing complexity of website structure and features. This affects the requirements we set for the organization and presentation of information on Web resources. In this thesis, an ontologybased approach to designing information architecture of websites has been proposed. The approach harnesses the expertise of information architects in designing high quality websites as well as the new conception of defining machineprocessable semantics of information resources using ontologies, which was formulated by the Semantic Web. The approach empowers Web developers with the methodology and instruments for conceptual modeling of the user aspects, information structure, navigation, and layout of Web resources as well as the mechanisms for automatic generation of websites based on the created models. African American News Websites $167.53 The purpose of this project was to understand Black publishers views, perspectives and experiences as they relate to the social construction of news, online news and the Black Press. Using nonstructured standardized interviews as the primary methodology, ten publishers participated in this study and shared their views, perspectives and experiences on the news creation process, on publishing Black news websites and on the Black press and mainstream news organizations. A descriptive content analysis was also conducted to further understand the publishers views and perspectives on the social construction of news and how it manifested into a final product, the actual website. Findings indicate that the majority of publishers in this study follow the traditional processes and procedures of mainstream news organizations. However, resources influence how closely the publishers adhere to these practices. When publishers have little resources they use different modes of behavior, utilizing the advantages available through the Internet. In addition, the majority of publishers in this study use agenda setting mainstream Internet news organizations as an agenda setting tool for their own news websites. Usability of E-Commerce Websites and Systems $70.71 E-commerce, today, is a part of human communication and social system, though technical aspects of E-commerce systems are important, there are also social variables which should come to consideration, so any E-commerce system can be viewed from two main view points; Technical and Human/Social. Pure technical solutions can not lead to a successful E-commerce. In order to maximize revenue from online trade, companies must have a usable E-commerce systems and websites, which give customers a real and convenient shopping experience and good customer service. If an E-commerce system supports all the factors mentioned above, it can satisfy customers and persuade them to buy online again. It is not easy to create and maintain a system and website which satisfy customers and makes them loyal, but in the case of fulfilling this goal, satisfied users may spend longer time at website, may revisit website later and also may recommend the website to others. The main issue is how to create such a systems and websites which considered being useable. The objective of research is to evaluate variables, both technical and human/social, affecting usability of systems from customers’ point of view. |

Social Networking Websites and Voter Turnout. $115.71 Social networking websites (SNWs) like Facebook and Twitter have played an increasing role in American politics. The social networking phenomenon has been discussed heavily in the press, but little scholarship has examined the direct effects, if any, of SNWs on voter turnout. This paper investigated whether accessing political content through SNWs affected the likelihood that individuals would vote in the 2008 presidential election. To examine this question, the paper used the Pew Center dataset titled November 2008 PostElection Tracking Survey. This randomdigit telephone survey dataset examined both voting behavior during the presidential election and online activity prior to the election. Using a probit regression model, this paper determined that a very significant relationship existed between accessing political content on SNWs and the likelihood of voting. The findings estimated that voter turnout increased by 1 vote for every 11 to 25 people who accessed political content on SNWs, depending on the specification used. The practical implications of this finding for political campaigns are powerful. Perceptual Differences of Urban Destination Websites $134.33 Its you In 2006 the Time Magazine declared the Internet user the Times Person of the Year. Considering that in March 2007 there were more than 1.1 billion people using the Internet, which is in fact a sixth of the world population, this election is not surprising. This should be reason enough to take the Internet user serious and to not underestimate his demands and expectations. However, even though there are numerous guidelines as to how to make a website successful, the provider and the user may have different perceptions of the website. Up to now substantial research has been carried out about the usability, the design and the image of websites. However, it has not been investigated whether a website is perceived equally by the provider (destination manager) and the user (potential tourist) or what the possible differences in these perceptions are. Consequently, the empirical part of this study aims to investigate whether there is a significant difference in these perceptions and if yes, where these differences can be found using the example of the capitals of the nine Austrian provinces. This book is unique because it throws away dull templates and presents the information in full color, with the use of helpful info-graphics. It starts by introducing structure and hierarchy rather than jumping with the first elements or how websites work. Since a picture can often tell a thousand words, the book introduces each new element in a visual way, relying on images and diagrams rather than pages of text. It then goes on to discuss CSS, and teaches the reader how to control how their pages will look / appear. As a value-add, the book is accompanied by a website that the user can download to their computer with lots of examples and exercises to try for themselves. The book covers: structure, text, lists, links, images, tables, forms, useful options, adding style w/CSS, controlling fonts, colors, thinking in boxes, styling lists, styling tables, layouts, using grids, and offers practical advice about SEO, Google analytics, ftp, and HTML5 all in beautifully rendered 4-color ease of reading. The reader will learn: How pages are structured How to create text How to create lists Linking between pages on a site Adding images to a page Structure and creation of tables Elements of forms and how to create How to add style with CSS Controlling fonts Adding colors Layouts |

ART/WORK: Everything You Need to Know (and Do) As You Pursue Your Art Career $8.54 Find Out What They Didn’t Teach You in Art School The most comprehensive guide of its kind, Art/Work gives artists of every level the tools they need to make it in an art world so competitive one dealer likens it to “The Sopranos, except nobody gets killed.” Whether you’re an art school grad looking for a gallery, a mid-career artist managing a busy studio, or someone just thinking about becoming a professional artist, this indispensable resource will help you build your career and protect yourself along the way. Unlike other creative professionals, visual artists don’t have agents or managers. You have to do it all yourself, at least until you find gallery representation — and even then, there are important business and legal issues you need to understand to stay in control of your career and ensure you’re being treated fairly. Heather Darcy Bhandari, a gallery director, and Jonathan Melber, an arts lawyer, walk you through these issues so that you can essentially act as your own manager and agent. They show you, for example, how to tackle business basics such as tracking inventory and preparing invoices; how to take legal precautions like registering a copyright and drafting consignment forms; how to use promotional tools like websites and business cards; and how to approach career decisions such as choosing the right venue to show your work. In addition to drawing on their own experiences, Bhandari and Melber interviewed nearly one hundred curators, dealers, and other arts professionals, in cities across the country, about what they expect from and look for in artists. The authors also talked to a host of artists about their careers and the lessons they’ve learned navigating the art world. The book is full of their entertaining anecdotes and candid advice. No matter what kind of artist you are — or want to be — this book will help you. Art/Work covers everything you need to know to succeed, saving you |
